剧本简介 ：
在一个寒冷的冬夜，一个年轻的学生要献上一朵红玫瑰才能与心仪的姑娘共舞。夜莺鲜红的心血慢慢流入红玫瑰树干枯的经脉，带血的玫魂终于在寒冬里怒放了，但夜莺却跌落在茂盛的草丛中，怀着对爱情的希望永远地闭上了双眼。最后女郎没有答应青年的追求，青年把玫瑰丢在了大街上，任由车轮碾过。
第一幕 ：
旁白：
> On a cold winter night, a young man had to present a red rose to dance with the girl he liked. They youth his very sad.
青年（哭着上场）：
> “She said that she would dance with me if I brought her red roses, but in all my garden there is no red rose.”
旁白：
> From her nest in the oak tree the Nightingale heard him, and she looked out through the leaves and wondered.
青年（哭着说）：
> “No red rose in all my garden!
第二幕 ：
夜莺（飞走，学生和树一退场）：
> “Give me a red rose, my roses are white, they window, and perhaps he will give you what you want.”
夜莺（戳树二的尖尖）：
> “Press closer, little Nightingale, look, look! The rose is finished now.”
树二拿出一朵玫瑰，学生上场：
> “Why, what a wonderful piece of luck! Here is a red rose!”
青年：
> “But there is no red rose in my garden, so I shall sit lonely. She will pass me by. She will have no heed of me and my heart will break.”
夜莺：
> “Surely love is a wonderful thing. It may not be purchased of the merchants, nor can it be weighed out in the balance for gold.”
结尾 ：
夜莺在月光下唱歌，最终倒在玫瑰树下，带着对爱情的希望永远闭上了眼睛。
